The facilities host for one day the face-to-face training sessions for students of the University Specialist Title in Data Science Applied to the Insurance Activity of the University of Oviedo.
This past Friday the headquarters of ebroker became for a few hours a classroom University of Oviedo. The students who are studying the Degree of University Specialist in Data Science applied to the Insurance Activity visited our facilities in Pravia and received a training session framed within the first face-to-face meeting of this university education.
The degree, the result of the collaboration agreement between the University of Oviedo and ebroker-E2K, which has been taught since September in a hybrid format to guarantee that students can access a combination of academic knowledge and knowledge applied to the practice of this new technological context while carrying out their professional activity, has had its first face-to-face meeting in Asturias on November 18 and 19.
In this sense, throughout the first day, the students, coming from different parts of Spain, met at the Polytechnic School of Engineering of Gijón with Manuel Luna, director of the title, researcher and professor at the University of Oviedo, who spoke to them about Data-Based Business Management, and with Xavier Montoya, Director of Management and Commercial Control of Plus Ultra Seguros who discussed, from his perspective, matters of strategic planning and commercial control in a company data driven.
At noon the students moved to Pravia and met at our facilities where, after a tour of recognition, they spoke with our CEO Higinio Iglesias who introduced them to the business concept of ebroker to give way to our Director of Project Engineering, Pedro Ramos, in charge of providing training in methodologies «"agile", giving the example of SCRUM, and tools OpenSource for the exploitation of Data.
During the day on Saturday, the students met in THE PIPE IS THE PIPE. In this case, the day began with Pablo Morcuende, BI & Underwriting Manager at MAPFRE, who conveyed the importance of presenting simple graphs to provide relevant information within the context of a company. After a brief stop for coffee, the event came to a close with Luisma y Javier who told us about their project BEDROCK – Humanized Intelligence based on analysis and AI solutions for individuals and organizations where good data processing is essential.
The students rate this meeting with an outstanding note, highlighting the practicability of the contents and the high value of the speakers who make up the teaching panel of the title.
